David Scougall

Prague%20-%20David%20Scougall.jpgDavid Scougall has a long and varied career in creative enterprise, having lead, collaborated in or advised programmes in, amongst other U.K. locations, Sheffield Victoria Quays, Leith (Edinburgh), Bradford, Liverpool and the East End of London. Wider afield, David has worked in or made study visits to the United States, Japan, Spain, Portugal, Austria and countries in Eastern Europe, including the Czech Republic and Hungary.

David Scougall was a Director of the British Urban Regeneration Association (BURA) for many years. He is, or has been, Chair / Vice-Chair of Kirklees (Huddersfield) Enterprise Agency, Bradford Festival Fringe, Leeds Club Limited and Yorkshire Investment Society. He is also or has been a Director of Wakefield Trinity Rugby League Club, Royds Community Association in Bradford, the Blatna Castle project and, before it was reconfigured, the North East Regional Arts Board. David led the development of some of these associations and groups, several of which specifically support community-led self-help.

In his creative and culture roles, David has collaborated with figures such as Nicholas Treadwell, who has a gallery in Aigen, Austria, and Graham Ibbotson, the artist who made the Morecambe sculptures.

Creative enterprise is an exciting place to be as the Eastern and Western Europe join forces. The links we are developing between Liverpool and the North of England and Prague and other established and emerging European Union locations demonstrate the potential of the European Renaissance project.
